Evan S. Cowit

Evan S. Cowit focuses his legal practice in the area of trusts & estates. Evan counsels clients on tax implications of estate planning and corporate and business succession strategies, as well as charitable planning. Evan is seasoned in the provision of a rich variety of succession planning services including the preparation of wills, revocable trusts, ILITs, GRATs, QPRTs, Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts and SCINS.

In addition, Evan is experienced in family limited partnerships, all facets of probate and administration including the preparation of federal and state estate, gift, fiduciary income tax and partnership returns and the negotiation of audits and FOBE elections.

Evan earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to the New York, New Jersey and Florida bars and is a member of the Trusts and Estates and Taxation Sections of the New York State Bar Association and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. He served for three years on the Trusts, Estates and Surrogate's Court Practice Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
